Phil is a life long bon vivant whose zest for the finer things has inspired him to writing prose. He finds inspiration for his writing in history, particularly those eras which he has some connection to.
Originally from the American Gulf Coast, Phil has resided in several major cities throughout the continent. Tapping into the artistic life blood of each, he connected with his peers with the result being he has maintained a sense of the current creative flow. Changing times means changing values and that is reflected in Phil's art.
A long time songwriter and recording artist, Phil was brought into the writing world in a somewhat random way. Around the turn of the century he worked a boring office job in midtown Manhattan with a colorful middle aged Vietnam-vet ex-heroin addict. This man’s vivid imagination kept Phil and the office entertained with tales of imaginary characters including one from Brooklyn named Monte di Monti. Eventually Phil and his office mate collaborated on some short fiction pieces and thus begun Phil's writing. Sadly this co-worker of Phil's is no longer with us but his character Monte lives on with Phil, and it inspired him to continue to write several short fiction pieces about him amongst his growing body of prose.
From there Phil has expanded his writing to other topics and other characters to create a rich vista of colorful people in colorful times.
